The National Hurricane Center of the United States Weather Service maintains a web site which provides real time information on Tropical Cyclone Activity in the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific regions, as well as satellite weather mapping and other useful information.
Another valuable source of information is provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the US Department of Commerce. The Extreme Weather Information Sheets provide regularly updated contact information for emergencies in different States and Regions, among which Texas and Louisiana.
