The States of Oklahoma and Arkansas and the Northern regions of Texas and Louisiana have a strong risk of tornadoes and strong winds, especially in Spring.


The Oklahoma Department for Emergency Management has the responsability for the management of emergencies in the State of Oklahoma. Among the services offered there is the possibility to receive real time notifications on National Weather Service Alerts during severe weather season and throughout the year by registering on this link. 

The Mesonet web site, a project created by the researchers of Oklahoma University and Oklahoma State University provides a detailed map of weather patterns in the State thanks to the data provided by 120 automatic stations that register and process variations throughout all the 77 counties of the State.


The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management has the responsability for emergency management in the State of Arkansas.
