GOVERNOR MARY FALLIN PROCLAIMS THE ITALIAN CULTURE MONTH IN THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA

On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of two wind farms built by Italy's Enel Green Power held at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Secretary of State Larry V. Parman announced the Proclamation by which Governor Mary Fallin declares the Month of Italian Culture in the State of Oklahoma.

Governor Fallin recognizes the participation to the calendar of 2013 Year of Italian Culture by some of the most relevant cultural institutions in Oklahoma, such as Tulsa Opera, the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Bilateral ties have been recently further enhanced by Enel Green Power's investment, one of the largest ever made by an Italian company in Oklahoma, as well as by the opening of a campus by Oklahoma University in the Italian City of Arezzo, which brought to the 2011 Sister City Agreement between Arezzo and Norman. Therefore, Governor Fallin joins in celebrating the Year of Italian Culture in the United States and declares the month of September 2013 as Italian Culture Month in the State of Oklahoma.

Consul General Nava expressed his deep gratitude for the important recognition by Governor Fallin, which also acknowledges the recent enhancement of bilateral ties between Italy and Oklahoma attained also thanks to the constant encouragement and support by the Consulate General of Italy in Houston and paves the way for further growth.
