EXHIBITALIA: ITALY ON SHOW IN HOUSTON

On April 5 and 6, 2014, the Italy America Chamber of Commerce of Texas will host Exhibitalia, a trade fair that will showcase a wide range of some of Italy's best productions and will be held at the George R. Brown Center in Downtown Houston.

Houston
and Texas benefitted greatly from the economic growth spurred by the Shale revolution, which provided a booster to an economy where energy plays an important role. The year 2013 posted a strong growth for Houston, which is already the nation's second port and hosts 26 Fortune 500 companies. Employment grew with 78,000 new jobs (+2.5%) with 68,900 more forecast for 2014 thanks to the effect across the economy of a growing population across the economy.
Italy is present in Houston with a total trade of $ 3,614,832,617 (+4.07%), $ 2,659,199,830 of which are Italian exports, largely concentrated on energy, industrial machinery and metal. Italian investments in Texas are 6.6% of the US total, and are also focused on energy, petrochemicals and industrial machines.
Houston is ready for a more diversified range of products in sectors that the Houston public instinctively associates with Italy, such as fashion and design, food and wine, artisan crafts, culture and tourism, which will all be highlighted at Exhibitalia.
