With the entry into force of Decree Law No. 36 of 2025 adopted by the Government, new applications for citizenship recognition by descent (jure sanguinis) will be processed according to the new regulations. Applications submitted before March 27, 2025, will, however, follow the previous rules.
The citizenship calendar is back online. It is recommended that users properly inform themselves about the new requirements for the recognition of Italian citizenship.
