Apostille, Translation and legalisation of documents

The consular office does not have a translation and interpreting service. The translations – ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY IN TEXT FORMAT – of divorce decrees, wills and other legal documents that must be exhibited in Italy were carried out by TRANSLATORS OF REFERENCE. Subsequently, the Office will certify the conformity of the translation to the original text, subject to payment of the consular fees.

Appointment Booking:

  • Civil Status Records (Birth, Marriage, Divorce, Death): To request the processing of records relating to birth, marriage, divorce and death, an appointment is required with the Civil Status Office, book through the PRENOT @MI portal.
  • Citizenship Records: For information and procedures regarding citizenship records, please visit the dedicated section on our website.
  • Other Records: For all other records, it is necessary to book an appointment exclusively with the Notary Office, always through the PRENOT@MI portal.

Important note:
for the services indicated above, it is not possible to send the documentation by post. It is recommended to book an appointment through the indicated channels to ensure efficient and timely management of the practices.

The Office does not certify translations of deeds valid in Italy that are not accompanied by an apostille.
