Students studying <u>full-time<\/u> at a University located in our jurisdiction are also allowed to apply to the Houston Consulate.<br \/>\nCheck if you need a VISA here: <a href=\"https:\/\/vistoperitalia.esteri.it\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/vistoperitalia.esteri.it\/home.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you do not reside in the aforementioned States of our jurisdiction, you can find your Consulate at this link: <a href=\"https:\/\/serviziconsolarionline.esteri.it\/ScoFE\/services\/consulate\/find-consulate.sco\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/serviziconsolarionline.esteri.it\/ScoFE\/services\/consulate\/find-consulate.sco<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applications can be submitted up to 6 months before the date of entry in the Schengen territory.<\/p>\n<p>Please be aware of the Schengen regulation, under which the Member State competent for examining and deciding on an application for a visa shall be:<\/p>\n<p>(a) the Member State whose territory constitutes the <strong>sole destination<\/strong> of the visit(s);<\/p>\n<p>(b) if the visit includes <strong>more than one destination<\/strong>, the Member State whose territory constitutes the <strong>main destination<\/strong> of the visit(s) in terms of the <strong>length<\/strong> or <strong>purpose<\/strong> of stay; or<\/p>\n<p>(c)\u00a0if <strong>no main destination can be determined<\/strong>, the Member State whose <strong>external border<\/strong> the applicant intends to cross in order to enter the territory of the Member States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To find information regarding your specific travel purposes, please check the appropriate website section.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To request information not available on the website, please send an email to visas.houston@esteri.it<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>VISA FEE<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Office accepts <strong>only USPS Money Order<\/strong> payable to the Consulate General of Italy. Other forms of payment will be rejected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As VISA fees change quarterly, new VISA Fee for the quarter 01.04.2026\u2013 06.30.2026 are as follows:<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Schengen<\/strong> VISA (stay under 90 days): $ 105.50 &#8211; Minors (ages 6 -12 years old): $ 52.80<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Long term<\/strong> VISA (stay over 90 days): $ 136.00<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Long term Study<\/strong> VISA: $ 58.60<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The VISA fee is NON-refundable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u>Passport\/Travel Document<\/u><br \/>\nPassports should be issued no more than 10 years ago and should contain at least two empty pages. The passport\u2019s date of expiration has to be at least 3 months later than the end date of the VISA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><u>Us Legal Status<\/u><br \/>\nThis Office can process visa requests ONLY from legal residents of the US. Holders of one of the following documents are eligible to apply for a visa: U.S. Passport; U.S. Permanent Resident Card (formerly Green Card); Foreign students holding valid visas and valid I-20; Exchange visitors holding valid visas and I-66; Long term US visas (Ex. L1, L2, H1, H2, R1 etc\u2026); US Permit to reenter; US Refugee Travel Document (Document de Voyage de refugee\u2019).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>INFO FOR THE APPLICANTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each application is independent, therefore the Applicants are required to bring a complete set of documents (ex. a family of 4 people = 4 sets of documents). Parents can either appear before the VISA Attach\u00e9&#8217; or send a notarized consent. <a href=\"https:\/\/conshouston.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/AFFIDAVIT-FOR-MINORS-custody.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AFFIDAVIT FOR MINORS [custody]<\/a><br \/>\nBirth certificate, original or a notarized copy; (All foreign documents MUST be translated into English and the translations legalized by the competent Consulate); Notarized copies of a picture I.D. from both the parents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minors under 14 years of age &#8212;&gt; In addition to the above mentioned letters, the applicant must travel with at least one parent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PICK UP HOURS:<\/strong><br \/>\nPassports and VISAS can be collected during regular opening hours. No appointment is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PROCESSING TIME:<\/strong><br \/>\nSCHENGEN VISA Applications are typically processed within 15 days, which may be extended up to 45 days.
