The statement of intent is not necessary in this case. The re-acquisition comes into effect the day after the one-year residency requirement has been completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The appointment to submit the\u00a0<strong>declaration of intent to reacquire Italian citizenship in person<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> subject to payment of the applicable consular fee,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>must be scheduled exclusively by appointment<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>through the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Prenot@mi portal<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/prenotami.esteri.it\/\">https:\/\/prenotami.esteri.it\/<\/a>) selecting the service \u201cReacquisition of the Italian Citizenship\u201d. During the reservation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upload the scan of <a href=\"https:\/\/conshouston.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Form_riacquisto_13.pdf\">Form_Riacquisto_art.13<\/a>\u00a0filled out.<\/li>\n<li>Upload the scan of the <strong>Estratto dell\u2019atto di nascita<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants are kindly requested to ensure that,\u00a0<strong>at the time of the appointment<\/strong>, all documentation submitted is\u00a0<strong>complete\u00a0<\/strong>with the required criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Should the documentation be found to be\u00a0<strong>incomplete<\/strong>, it will not be possible to proceed with the application. The request will therefore need to be\u00a0<strong>resubmitted at a later date<\/strong>, following the instructions published on the website and after booking a new appointment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>REQUIRED DOCUMENTS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/conshouston.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Form_riacquisto_13.pdf\">Form_Riacquisto_art.13<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Copy of a\u00a0<strong>valid passport\u00a0<\/strong>issued by the country of current citizenship;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proof of residence<\/strong>\u00a0in this consular jurisdiction (utility bill, driver\u2019s license or State ID);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Original \u201cEstratto dell\u2019Atto di Nascita\u201d <\/strong>issued within the last six months, by the Italian<em>\u00a0Comune<\/em>\u00a0where you were born or where your birth is registered;<\/li>\n<li>a copy of the applicant\u2019s most recent Italian passport (if available);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Certificate of Naturalization<\/strong>, or equivalent documentation according to the local practice of the relevant foreign country (e.g., birth certificate accompanied by citizenship certification) indicating the date and reason of acquisition of foreign citizenship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>An appointment to submit your statement of intent (pursuant to art.13 paragraph 1 lett. c Law 91\/1992) will be scheduled ONLY IF the above documentation, submitted first by email, is correct and complete.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the documentation is found to be incomplete or non-compliant, the application will be rejected and must be resubmitted following the instructions published on the website.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the day of the scheduled appointment, the applicant must submit the original documents and a second set of copies. In addition, the applicant will need to provide a receipt of payment of EURO 250,00 payable\u00a0to the Ministero dell\u2019Interno.
