Strangers I Know: Book Talk and Signing with Claudia Durastanti, organized by the French and Italian Graduate Student Organization.
Please join us for a conversation with award-winning author, translator, and journalist Claudia Durastanti and Assistant Professor of Italian Studies Dr. Rebecca Falkoff as they discuss Durastanti’s latest work and authorial practice.
As a CODA (child of death adult), raised both in Brooklyn and the southern Italian region of Basilicata, Durastanti explores conceptions of lineage, migration, disability, and language in her 2019 novel La straniera, translated into English as Strangers I Know (2020). She currently resides in Rome and is soon to publish her next book.
