How to access the Consulate General

For security reasons, in order to protect primarily the users of the Consulate General of Italy in Houston, as well as all the staff working here, the public is informed that:

  • Only those who personally require consular services will be admitted to the Consulate. Access to the Consulate premises is only permitted with an appointment or upon summons from the Office.
  • Relatives, friends, or other accompanying persons will not be admitted to the building. Exceptions will be made only for parents of a minor and companions of people with disabilities.
  • Situations of proven necessity will be evaluated individually by the security personnel and, if necessary, by the Consul General.
    It is recommended to bring and show the email of the appointment from the consular office at the entrance. Failure to present the appointment email may result in denied entry.

While reiterating that the measures listed above are intended to ensure better service and greater security for users, we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
Access to the Consulate is permitted depending on the capacity of the waiting rooms and the availability of seating. Discretion regarding the flow of people is entrusted to the Security personnel who will carry out security checks.
Animals of any kind, even small ones, are not allowed.

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

– Smartphones;

– Large suitcases;

– Weapons of any kind;

– Razor blades, utility knives, knives, scissors, martial arts equipment, swords and sabers;

– Stunning or incapacitating devices;

– Chemicals, gases, irritating pepper sprays, tear gas, acids and animal repellents;

– Objects with a sharp point or edge;

– Work tools; – Pressurized containers;

– Fireworks and other pyrotechnic articles;

– Perfumes, deodorants, and shaving foams;

– Sprays of all kinds, flammable and non-flammable;

– Food and beverages of all kinds (including sealed or unsealed water bottles);

– Sports equipment;

– Arduino boards, Raspberry Pi, Flipper Zero, Marauder, HackRF One and similar devices;

– Laser pointers;

– Helmets;

– Photographic tripods;

– Bicycles of all kinds, electric and non-electric scooters, Segways and unicycles;

– Closed or sealed packages will be opened for inspection;

– Umbrellas (small or large) must be deposited in the designated containers near the entrance.
