This book showcases the lives and achievements of 74 Italian scientists whose work has left a mark on the scientific landscape of the United States and in particular in our jurisdiction. They are just a sample of the vibrating and excellent Italian scientific community which works in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

Announcing the Winners: We are proud to reveal the names of the three outstanding scientists who have been selected as the winners of the Mirabilis Image Contest after the vote of researchers, high schools of AR, LA, OK, TX, and the public vote:
1st Place: Dr. Andrea Natale, Executive Medical Director of the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center, Austin, TX
2nd Place: Marzia Conte, MSc, Houston Methodist Research Institute, Houston, TX.
3rd Place: Prof. Maria Beatrice Magnani, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. Hers is also the most voted image by the high schools.
