Information on hurricane risk

The National Hurricane Center of the United States Weather Service makes available a website that provides real-time information on the activities of tropical cyclones in the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific regions, together with satellite maps and other useful information.

Other useful information is provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the US Department of Commerce. The “Extreme Weather Information Sheets” provide up-to-date and easily accessible information with emergency contact numbers in several states and regions, including the coastal regions of Texas and Louisiana that are at greatest risk from hurricanes, namely Houston/Galveston and New Orleans.
