Theft, loss or deterioration

In case of lost or stolen travel document that is still valid, please:

1. Immediately report the lost/theft to the local police office (where the event happened) and ask for the police report. The police report must include your full name and the number of the lost/stolen Italian document
2. In order to suspend or revoke your passport, please send a passaporti.houston@esteri.it:
   • The police report
   • The complaint form
   • A detailed explanation of what happened

Do not file a police complaint in case of deterioration or for lost/stolen expired document.

For citizens enrolled in the A.I.R.E. at the Consulate General of Italy in Houston:

• in case of urgency, contact the emergency number +1 (713) 459-2110 and/or write to passaporti.houston@esteri.it specifying and documenting the reasons for the urgency.
• otherwise book an appointment on Prenot@ami and show up for the appointment with all the documentation for issuing a passport (see passport for adults or passport for minors) and a copy of the police report.

For NON-resident citizens:

1. immediately contact the emergency number to make arrangements for the issuance of an E.T.D.;
2. come at the appointment will all the valid ID in your possess (originals or copies), the police report, the documentation needed to issue the ETD
3. upon arrival in Italy, the complaint must be registered with the competent authorities.
